Learn the fundamentals of building and controlling a fire for cooking. Whether you’re lighting up a fire pit or prepping a cage for live-fire grilling, this class will teach you how to:

  • Start a fire using both bottom-up and top-down methods

  • Choose the right fuel, different woods for different cooks.

  • Manage airflow & ember creation for consistent heat

  • Understand wood characteristics and how they affect cooking

  • Control cooking distances for perfect heat management

  • Each class comes with a special discount in Scotts BBQ Barn.

In this class you will learn how to cook some classic live fire dishes. These can include chicken shawarma, asado pork belly, vacio and bavette to name a few.

The menu will vary from class to class. So if you come back a 2nd time you won’t be doing the same dishes.

You will not go home hungry.

A great fire also calls for a great drink, so beverages are included while you learn.

By the end of the session, you’ll have the confidence to build, control, and cook over fire like a pro, because once you master fire, everything else is just technique.
